so good to meet you.
You can call me Mido (“Mee-doe”) or Midori, whichever makes you comfortable. Friends and colleagues use both! My pronouns are she/her.
I am an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist currently working toward licensure in the state of Oregon, under the supervision of Justin Rock, LPC. I have a BA in Psychology from Swarthmore College and a MA in Marriage, Couple, & Family Therapy with a specialization in Sex Therapy from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling.
My trauma-informed clinical training includes work with individuals, families, and intimate partners around relational conflict patterns, racial and cultural oppression, spiritual/religious trauma, parenting challenges, neurodiversity, identity and sexuality, ethical nonmonogamy and nontraditional relationship structures, arousal/desire differences in partnerships, and sexual pain concerns. I have also conducted research into invisible power structures in relational therapy and have facilitated parenting groups for neurodivergent families for over a decade.
I am a passionate advocate for inclusivity and the neuroqueer framework, which celebrates diversity in bodies as well as minds. (Never heard of that? No worries! Just ask me. Curiosity is key to connection.)
Other tidbits about me: I am a design junkie with a love of weird plants, and I really prioritize spending time with the people I love. An ideal relaxing afternoon at my house would involve placing the last piece of an impossibly hard puzzle, being beaten (barely!) by one of my four children at a board game, and then devouring my partner’s Hatch chile enchiladas.
